Igbo Community Coventry (ICC) is an association which brings together persons and groups who are Igbos by birth, marriage, naturalization or adoption, within Coventry.  Our aim is to promote and maintain Igbo heritage, promote activities which help improve the quality of life for all community members and integrate our members into other helpful community activities within our immediate environment

Our objectives

  • Promote unity within the black community and improve cohesion with other communities
  • Promote and celebrate African arts, culture, language learning and heritage within the community
  • Provide education programmes for learners from African origin within the community, thereby developing creative talent
  • Promote black-led businesses and develop the capacity and skills of members of the community; promote the capacity building of member and their communities
  • To impact the younger generation of Igbos in Coventry and the environs with the values in the Igbo culture which promote love, unity, diligence, peace and mentoring as part of the integrated programme for the Igbo child.
  • To support members in times of needs such as career advice and support, job search, CV writing, residential and business accommodation searches.

What are your meeting schedule?

Our meetings are held on the last Sunday of every month

What do I stand to benefit as a member?
  • Financial and moral support from members in times of needs (death of a loved one, sickness, etc. However, you must have been a registered member for a minimum period of six (6) months)
  • Support for weddings & parties.
  • Benefits from or Visa and Passport advise service
  • Free entry to all Seminars
  • Reduces price for Community Day Care (we only care for members registered kids please)
  • Reduces price for selected African food supplies (Okporoko, Yams, etc.)
  • Reduces price for event organisation (Event Rollers)
  • Automatic entry into our sports & dance activities sessions for men, women, maiden, children)
  • Extra (Igbo) school activities for your kids
  • Childcare during general meetings.

Must I attend all meetings?

No. However, if you miss our meeting for consecutive three months any time without genuine excuse, your membership will be deemed dormant and all membership financial benefit suspended.

Do you provide child care during meetings?

Yes (You must be registered and your child must be on our database to benefit from the care)
